If You Like Music That's Groovy, You'll Enjoy This Movie

If you like The Beatles, circumnavigate across the universe to see this movie. Across the Universe is a soundtrack of classic Beatles tunes. The movie is about Jude and Lucy, fictional characters from the Beatles songs.
The movie includes many well known Beatles hits like, Let It Be, All You Need Is Love, Hey Jude, I Am The Walrus, and many, many more. It will have you singing out loud and may even make you want to hold my hand.
The Beatles, one of my favorite bands is what drew me to this movie.
Here are some of my favorite parts... Jude (Jim Sturgess) and his best friend Max (Joe Anderson) are singing Strawberry Fields. There was a lot of drama and emotion that really got my attention, and I assure you, it will get yours too. Another part that I really enjoyed was when Jude, Max, and Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood) are in the bowling alley dancing and singing "I've Just Seen A Face." That's the scene when Jude discovers his feelings for Lucy and is one of the most important scenes in the movie. The song is really catchy.
Jim Sturgess was terrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrific. The first movie that I Sturgess in was 21, another great role for Jim.
Across The Universe takes place in the 1960's during The Vietnam War. Those days were very difficult times for young men in our country. There was a draft and young men from the age of 18 - 25, were forced to fight in the war. To avoid being drafted people left the country illegally. Also in those days, people were getting arrested for standing up for what they believed in.
In the movie, Lucy works to try to create world peace.
Another great scene, with a cameo appearance by Bono(playing a hippie) sang I Am The Walrus. This scene was a flashback to what people were like in the 60's.
What I didn't like about this movie was the scene when all the bodies just fell into the water. It was a very small and pointless part. It could have been left on the editing floor. And when the whole gang goes into the tent, and sees Prudence and other weird things. Parts like that just creep me out.
I have to say the movie itself was a little weird. The best part of the movie was the music. And Hey Dude, how can you go wrong if its The Beatles? I give this movie 2 popcorn buckets out of 4
