Slumdog Millionaire Is Priceless

The latest movie the I saw is called Slumdog Millionaire, and let me tell you, it was absolutely OUTSTANDING. Director Danny Boyle created a masterpiece. The movie is about a boy named Jamal Malik, an 18 year old orphan who was chosen to be on India's version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. With every question, Jamal flashbacks to his childhood to help find the answer. This movie shows how hard it is to live in a place like India, and how anybody can have their dreams come true. As a young boy Jamal's mother was killed, and there is nothing known about his father. He and his older brother are forced to live on the streets, alone. They come across all sorts of people throughout their journey. This movie is nominated for 10 academy awards including the following: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Song(2 songs are nominated), Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Film Editing, and Best Cinematography. This movie stars Dev Patel as Jamal, Freida Pinto as Latika. Latika is Jamal's true love and feels that them being together is their destiny. Dev Patel is not nominated for the role of Jamal because 3 different people played Jamal at different ages so he really wasn't the lead actor. However he did get nominated for best supporting actor for a golden globe, but how could he have beaten Heath Ledger. Slumdog Millionaire won best picture during The Golden Globes, and the SAG awards. Hopefully it will win an Oscar because it deserves it. This movie is rated R. I give this move 4 popcorn buckets out of a possible 4. I highly recommend this movie to everyone. I give this movie 2 thumbs up, but that is only because I only have 2 thumbs. If I had 10 thumbs then this movie would get 10 thumbs up. Remember, "If you want to find a flick, twothumbsup will help you pick."
