The last movie that I saw is entitled Funny People (R). It stars Adam Sandler, Seth Rogan, Leslie Mann, and is directed by Judd Apatow. It is about a comedian named George Simmons (Sandler). who has just recently found out that he is dying of cancer. This comedian is aging and has decided to get off the big screen for a while and start doing stand up again. Then while he is back at the place where his career had started, he befriends an unknown comedian named Ira Wright (Rogan) who is a big fan of his. Simmons asks Wright if he could write some jokes for him for his upcoming comedy shows. In the process Simmons tries to win back his ex (Mann) and develops a strange relationship with Wright. This movie is filled with laughs but the problem is it is hard to laugh at such cruel topics like adultery, deadly diseases, and other stuff. My favorite parts are when they are doing stand up because that is where there are a lot of funny parts that are to die for. To be honest, you can't have a better comedy that contains the comedian hero of the ninety's, and the comedian hero of this decade. Rogan and Sandler are a hit, and they click very well together. Judd Appatow hits the jackpot again. You can also see appearances from Jonah Hill, Jason Schwartzman, and even Eric Bana showing off his comedian side. In addition, Eminem, Ray Romano, and even James Taylor have a cameo in this comedy hit. Overall I give this movie 2.5 popcorn buckets out of a possible 5.0 because of the storyline, and the movie did not to be as long as it was. Remember, "If you want to find a flick, twothumbsup will help you pick."
